Itel S11 Review

What do you do after giving consumers a powerful smartphone that can last for days in terms of the battery capacity? How do you impress people that you just gave the OTG reverse charge feature at a very affordable rate? I am assuming that these were some of the questions on  the mind of Itel research team before they dropped their new phone. Remember, that we did a review of the It1516 plus a couple of weeks ago with very good words put in for the battery. Also remember that in that particular review I pointed out the poor camera capacity as one of the cons of the Phone.

Itel S11 Review

Well, it seems Itel, as they revealed in an interview with us, are actually a listening brand. If nothing proves that, the Itel S11 proves that beyond reasonable doubt. The phone that has just been introduced into the Nigerian market, has a better camera specification than it’s predecessor; a testament to the fact that Itel listens. Does it have  a top of the shelf camera capacity like most mid-range devices promise? not really. But at least we can see that itel are aiming to impress with this new phone. And doing a good job at trying to present different offerings This phone comes with a 5MP front and rear camera in sharp contrast to the 2MP that the 1516 plus had.

Moving on from the camera, this phone runs the Android Marshmallow out of box! that is another improvement on the Lollipop that the 1516 plus had to offer. Needless to say, that the Android Marshmallow has a cleaner interface than the Lolipop, so the S11 trumps the 1516 plus in terms of display and functionality of the icons.

As much as I realise that this is a review and not a comparison between the itel 1516 plus and the Itel s11, I can not push the little advancements that Itel has been making to the background.

One of the new features that Itel has introduced in this edition of the phone is the “smile to capture” feature when you are taking selfies. When this feature is activated, all you have to do is smile to the camera and it will immediately take a picture of you using the facial detection technology. According to concrete sources that will like to stay anonymous, Itel might be planning a smile selfie contest with this feature during this festive period.

Moving away from that, Itel S11 has the multiple account feature where one can log in different accounts to different social media on the same phone. The phone also has a “Do not disturb” feature that allows you switch your phone to silent mode when you are busy or resting. You can also customise this feature to tell your phone which phone calls you will still like to be notified of so that you don’t miss a business call from that big-buck prospective customer.

The Phone is exclusively available to 3Chub for now at 27,000 and will be available nationwide pretty sooon.

I would be honest, S11 is awesome (just like the IT1516) but its 5MP rare and front camera still remain a flaw.

People wants more of battery (which is solved) and more camera mega pixel (like 12MP rare and 8MP front).

The prize is still affordable. I believe Itel will go places being a listener to the market.
