Lenovo Vibe P1m is referred to as the “smartphone with nine lives” by Gadgets Review NG the device is a Lenovo manufactured product which was announced september 2015 and released the following month . The Android handset comes with battery capacity of 4000mAh which is huge when compared with the likes of Xiaomi, Micromax and Motorola. Just after the publication of the LENOVO A5000 HANDS-ON REVIEW, we published the unboxing of Lenovo Vibe P1m to reveal the exciting accessories that came with the smartphone as well as the full Specs and Price of Lenovo Vibe P1m via the Gadgets Finder.
This is a dual SIM phone and supports 4G on one SIM slot and 3G on both. The low-priced 4G LTE smartphone – Lenovo Vibe P1m has its share of hits and misses in this Hands-on Review of the Lenovo Vibe P1m Smartphone.
Getting down to business, The Lenovo Vibe P1m carried on the sleek design of its predecessors – Lenovo A519 and Lenovo A5000 smartphones. Lenovo Vibe P1m measures 141 x 71.8 x 9.3mm and weights only about 148 grams. The frame around the phone which was made of plastic, has been given a coating of faux aluminium finish with a small plate around the camera on the back cover which is metal.
The Lenovo Vibe P1M speaker is placed at the bottom of the screen, and not behind the back cover. The speaker doesn’t get muffled when you put the phone down while playing music.
The Lenovo Vibe P1M comes with the usual Android buttons — menu, back and home — are backlit. There is a button located at the left side on the phone which used to toggle between the battery saving and normal mode. Thats a job well done! We also have the power button is positioned below the volume buttons by the right side.
The back cover of the Lenovo Vibe P1M is removable with a non-removable battery and comes with a coating that supposedly will save it from the accidental water splashes. The 3.5mm audio slot, noise cancellation mic & USB port is provide at the top while voice reception mic is provided at the bottom.
The Lenovo Vibe P1M has a decent screen with a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display with resolution of 720p giving vibrant colours. The auto brightness setting is very aggressive and turning it off helps.
Another minor issue with the screen is that it collects smudges all too easily. Use the phone for half an hour or so and you will see fingerprints all over it.
The front camera of 5-megapixel is good enough for selfies in good light. In low light, you will not get any good image worth sharing on Facebook.
The Lenovo Vibe P1M is powered by MediaTek’s MT6735P processor that uses ARM 53 cores. There are four cores inside the MT6735P and they run at a speed of up to 1GHz. The phone uses Mali T720 graphics processor and has 2GB RAM.
It comes with 16GB internal storage of which a little over 11GB can be accessed by users. The device does support sports a micro SD card expansion up to 64GB.
The Lenovo Vibe P1M performance is a good one that even when you play Mortal Combat for over 30 minutes, it doesn’t get hot.
Lenovo pre-installed the smartphone with Android 5.1 lollipop with vibe UI. The user interface of the device is customized and support different themes, and has features like Power saving mode and Wireless Display.
The other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G and also 4G LTE.
As usual with other Lenovo phones, The Lenovo Vibe P1M runs Android version 5.1 Lollipop but the software and user interface looks a little bit different from what other users get with Android Lollipop.
The Vibe P1M also comes preloaded with several apps. Preloaded apps like Twitter and Facebook are useful. Even Lenovo apps such as ShareIt and FileExplorer offer lot of functionality, WPS Office for reading and creating Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents, CamCard for capturing of all your business cards and CamScanner, which is an intelligent document management solution for individuals, small businesses, organizations, governments and schools.. All the pre-installed apps are accessed through the homescreen, there are themes, ability to create own shortcuts, gestures like “re-arrange apps by shaking the phone” and many more other options. Though we don’t find them particular useful.
The Lenovo comes with a 4000 mAh battery inside it. For a phone that has a screen size of 5 inches, this is a huge battery. The Non-removable 4000mAh battery is sufficient for both heavy use and normal use. It comes with a battery you can use for a day or more than when connected on 3G which can be said to be an heavy use.
As earlier said, the Lenovo Vibe P1M comes with a battery saver mode that can be toggled with a button on the left side of the phone. The battery saver mode puts the phone into a lite mode which make only essential apps work.

Though the device looks bulky, the build quality is good when you compared to other smartphones in this price range. The device runs smoothly without any lags or app crashes. Coming to the battery life of the device, the 4,000mAh battery is definitely the stand out feature of the device as you can expect a maximum of two days battery life on a single full charge. Lenovo could have seriously added a good camera to the Lenovo Vibe P1m. The ability of the smartphone to support 4G LTE networks adds more value to the device.
All things considered, we think the Lenovo Vibe P1m will be a good pick for an entry-level Android user. If you are happy with two days battery in the similar Lenovo packaging then go for it!
